Jake, a struggling father and maths teacher, at risk of losing his job, bumps into an old friend Pete, a well-known poker player. Pete teaches Jake to play and Jake becomes obsessed with winning money and making a name for himself. This new obsession takes Jake on an unforgettable journey in which he thinks he is getting what he wants, only to discover that which he truly needs.
